Previously on Konformist.com, we had released the match-ups for the big four bowl games in a proposed college football playoff, plus the teams for the two consolation games.  Let's see the results, courtesy of WhatIfSports.com:

Rose Bowl
Stanford (8, PAC-12) - Wisconsin (Big Ten)

Wisconsin Badgers 7 3 3 0 13
Stanford Cardinal 7 0 3 15 25

Wisconsin, despite failing to finish in the Top 25, holds tough against Stanford until running out of gas in the fourth quarter.

Cotton Bowl
Kansas State (7, Big 12) - Florida (4)

Florida Gators 0 0 10 7 17
Kansas State Wildcats 3 3 0 3 9

The Gators, the second-ranked team in the SEC, defeats the second-ranked conference champ after Alabama.

Orange Bowl
Florida State (13, ACC) - Notre Dame (1)

Notre Dame Fighting Irish 14 10 0 13 37
Florida State Seminoles 10 3 7 3 23

Notre Dame goes to 13-0 for the season.

Sugar Bowl
Alabama (2, SEC) - Oregon (5)

Oregon Ducks 0 7 0 3 10
Alabama Crimson Tide 3 28 0 21 52

Alabama crushes Oregon.  Will they win it all?

Consolation Games

Peach Bowl
Georgia (6) - Oklahoma (12)

Oklahoma Sooners 3 10 7 21 41
Georgia Bulldogs 3 14 3 7 27

There's a good case for Georgia to have been part of the final 8, but the 12th-ranked Sooners beat them in the fourth quarter.

Fiesta Bowl
Louisville (22, Big East) - Northern Illinois (16)

Northern Illinois Huskies 6 7 0 7 20
Louisville Cardinals 2 10 3 8 23

In a game now designed to allow the non-power conferences to get some big bowl money, Louisville defeats Northern Illinois.

Final Four

Here's the teams:

Notre Dame (1)
Alabama (2, SEC)
Florida (4)
Stanford (8, PAC-12)

Normally, the top-ranked remaining team plays the lowest-ranked one, but there are two exceptions:

1. Teams from the same conference don't play in the Final Four; and
2. Unless rule 1 overrules this, the Rose Bowl champ doesn't play the top ranked team.

With either rule, Notre Dame doesn't play Stanford but Florida, while Alabama plays the Cards rather than their SEC rival Gators.

Gator Bowl
Notre Dame (1) - Florida (4)

Florida Gators 10 7 3 0 7 3 30
Notre Dame Fighting Irish 0 10 7 3 7 0 27

The Gators beat undefeated Notre Dame in 2nd OT!

Sun Bowl
Alabama (2, SEC) - Stanford (8, PAC-12)

Stanford Cardinal 0 0 7 0 7
Alabama Crimson Tide 14 6 3 10 33

An all-SEC final!

*

NCAA Championship
January 19, 2013
Alabama (2, SEC) - Florida (4)

Florida Gators 3 7 3 3 16
Alabama Crimson Tide 0 0 3 6 9

The Gators win their third game by a TD or less to win the crown!

That does it. See you next year!
