Suspended NFL defensive back Adam (Pacman) Jones won't play the heel if he joins a pro wrestling organization - even if the Tennessee Titans' troubled cornerback does have plenty of experience.

Jones reportedly has been invited to join Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, an aspiring competitor to World Wrestling Entertainment, but his attorney Worrick Robinson said Jones won't wrestle and will not be cast as a villain.

"It is not anticipated that he'll be wrestling, but discussions are taking place for him to have some role in their profession," Robinson told The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville.

TNA spokesman Steve Godfrey would not talk about Jones' potential role with the the Nashville-based wrestling federation, but he did say the company will issue a statement regarding Jones today.

Jones was suspended for the 2007 season by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell because of numerous run-ins with the law. He was charged with two counts of felony coercion last month for his role in a Las Vegas strip club fight that preceded a triple shooting in February. Each count carries a maximum penalty of six years in prison.

Witnesses said the gunman had been partying with Jones prior to the shooting, which left former club manager Tommy Urbanski paralyzed.

"It shows you what a bunch of low-lifes there are in wrestling," said Urbanski, a former professional wrestler from Commack, L.I.

The NFL declined comment.

Urbanski's wife Kathy said Jones should stop worrying about wrestling and start helping Las Vegas police capture the man who shot her husband.

"I want him to give up the shooter," she said. "He needs to do that regardless of whether he's in football, wrestling or gymnastics."
